it's not really emulating anything at all - the entire signal path of the andromeda with the exception of the lfo's was analog - one of the reason's it was so incredibly expensive. One of the most difficult things to design (or emulate) in the software world are filters and equalizers. The coefficients used in software like say the algorithmix eq's are incredibly difficult to design and kept proprietary because people will literally pay thousands of dollars for implementation of code that doesn't involve necessarily a tremendous amount of lines but very complex math that really virtually no-one wants to spend years of their life developing.

The is also a lot that goes into modeling the actual analog circuitry of such devices that most people aren't aware of. Of course - much of the math and conceptual stuff behind it is a little too deep for most people but there is a huge different between say a non-complex dinky supersaw built in reaktor and 'the same' model of circuit done in one of arturia's product like the moog modular...

To say that you can get that moog sound real easy just by throwing 'a filter' on 'an oscillator' is hugely misleading - and also the reason there are software synthesizers out there costing hundreds upon hundreds of dollars that are extremely popular. Any purist will tell you that a moogs didn't become popular just because they were 'analog'. The very way they were built and the nature of the combination of all the components made almost everyone of them some of the most highly sough after pieces of electronic music gear in existence...
